In this lesson we focus on the structure of an advert and its communication strategy. We also discuss the influence an advert has on our purchasing choice. However, the main aim of this lesson plan is to create an advert based on the theory explained and discussed.

Media and Learning newsletter link

We have added another link to our page "useful links". The Media and Learning newsletter is published monthly by the Media and Learning association. Each newsletter is full of news and information about the use of media in education and training including interesting publications, events, initiatives, websites, projects, tools and information about various festivals and other competitions related to the use of media aimed at the education and training sector. It also includes news and background information about the Media & Learning Conference, the MEDEA Awards, its winners and finalists and the network of organisations who support these two initiatives.

Cult of selfies

The lesson plan dealing with the influence and wide-spreading of selfies all over the internet. Students first discuss how selfies changed our way of living and thinking and then they take their "selfie" which cannot picture themselves but something that they consider to represent who they are. Another output of this lesson could be taking mug shots of students and then let them compare them with the selfies they usually present on social networks).
